Pure Matte Fade — Neutral Contrast Base LUT
A pure contrast reduction with no colour cast at all — the cleanest LUT in this drop. It isn't a look on its own; it's the base you stack your own look on top of, or the fix when footage came out too contrasty to grade. Useful in CapCut where you have limited curve control. Free .cube, also works in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve and Final Cut Pro.

What this LUT does
Measured from the file itself: it softens contrast (about 16% flatter through the midtones); holds saturation roughly steady; lifts blacks to 8 IRE, so shadows sit milky rather than crushed.

How this was measured: a 21-step neutral ramp and nine saturated probes are pushed through the lattice and compared with what went in. Contrast is the slope between 35% and 65% input; saturation is the mean change in distance from the grey axis; the cast is the direction a neutral input comes out at three heights. Rec.709 luma throughout — the same coefficients the previewer uses, so these numbers describe the image in the slider above.
